Fifth Annual Performathon

When: Sunday, October 20, 2019, 3:00 to 6:00 PM
Where: St. Christopher’s Episcopalian Church, 545 S East Ave in Oak Park
Performers: Students, teachers, adults, family members. Teachers do not need to be present for their students to participate. Students younger than 14 yrs need to be accompanied by a parent or an adult proxy. All singers and instrumentalists may participate.
Music genre: Solo, ensemble, classical, contemporary, jazz, blues, rags, sacred, or showtime. Any music that can be performed well and befits a fundraiser is accepted. Music does not have to be memorized.

Students performing will be sharing their talent, dedication and enthusiasm to raise funds for the MTNA Foundation in honor of William Browning, revered Chicago pianist and teacher. Funds raised by the Performathon will be directed to the MTNA Foundation’s Benefit Fund which assists teachers affected by natural disasters, including hurricanes and flooding.

Families and friends are welcome to attend. Students are encouraged to collect donations for the MTNA Foundation Fund before the day of the performance. Students collecting $25 will receive a gift. Cash prizes will be awarded to the students collecting the most money. Donations, made by cash or check made out to the MTNA Foundation Fund, are tax deductible.

Registration deadline: Wednesday, October 16, 2019

Teachers sign up students for one or more 10-minute slots. Time slots need not be consecutive, and a slot may be filled by one or more students. Teachers do not need to list repertoire. The program will only list the performer’s names.
